Q1. Who are the false prophets and false teachers sowing destructive heresies?

A) "But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction." (2 Pet. 2:1)

Peter warned us of prophets and teachers in the last days teaching destructive heresies. They're denying the Lord that once bought them by His blood. Paul warned anyone teaching heresies will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal. 5:20-21) These ministers were once saved. In the second chapter of my new book, The Wolves in Sheep Clothing, the Holy Spirit led me to expose four heresies deceiving many in the church today.

1. The denial of Jesus as the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18) (Larry Huch) Video #11

2. The denial of Jesus as the Messiah (Christ). (John 1:22) (John Hagee) #21

3. The denial of everlasting torment for the wicked. (Mat. 10:28) (Carlton Pearson) #25

4. The denial of Jesus as the only way to be saved. (Acts. 4:12) (Billy Graham) #26

GO DEEPER:

The denial of Jesus as the only begotten Son of God.

"And the angel answered and said to her, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.'" (Luke 1:35)

An angel told Mary the baby she would conceive will be called the Son of God. Joseph and Mary were instructed to call Him, Jesus (Mat. 1:20-25). He is Immanuel; God with us. This is the incarnation; the Word of God becoming flesh, the only begotten of the Father (John 1:14). Jesus was born to save people from their sins. Anyone believing in Jesus as the only begotten Son of God will receive everlasting life. Yet ministers like, Larry Huch, Paula White, Creflo Dollar, Paul Crouch, Benny Hinn, and Kenneth Copeland blatantly deny Jesus as the only begotten Son of God. They teach the Manifest Sons of God heresy. They believe they are Sons of God, equal to Jesus. Anyone believing in this heresy cannot continue to abide in the doctrine of Christ! (2 John 1:9)

The denial of Jesus as the Messiah (Christ).

What about ministers denying Jesus is the Christ? I recently watched John Hagee announce his new revelation which he hopes will reshape Christian theology. [21. Hagee Heresy, T. 0:01-0:43] This pastor now believes Jesus did not come to the earth to be the Messiah. The Hebrew word for Messiah is Mashiach. In the Greek it is Cristos or Christ, the Anointed One. Jesus told the woman at the well He is the Messiah (John 4:25-26). Paul was compelled by the Holy Spirit to testify to the Jews Jesus is the Christ (Acts 18:5). Peter declared Jesus is the Christ to the House of Israel (Acts 2:36). Hagee asserts how can Israel be blamed for rejecting Jesus if He didn't come to be the Messiah? This is why he teaches the Jewish people never rejected Jesus as their Messiah. Yet it was the unbelieving Jews that handed the Christ over to the Romans to be crucified.

"He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." (John 1:11-12)

There are many verses proving Jesus' own people rejected Him as their Messiah. For those who believe in His name He gives the right to become children of God.

"Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son." (1 John 2:22)

Anyone denying Jesus is the Christ is a liar. Pastor Hagee has ministered for over fifty years. He has led many souls to Christ. He has counseled thousands of families in his marriage seminars. Yet, when he denied Jesus is the Christ he denied the Father and His Son. Such heresy is antichrist. It doesn't matter how many years you have served the Lord; no can commit such sacrilege and still be saved!

"Simon Peter answered and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' Jesus answered and said to him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.'" (Mat. 16:16-17)

I am lovingly bringing an accusation against anyone denying Jesus as the Messiah.

"Do not receive an accusation against an elder except from two or three witnesses. Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear." (1 Tim. 5:19-20)

Many witnesses are praying for you to renounce this heresy. If you don't you will be lost for eternity and none of the righteous works you did will be remembered.

"When I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, but he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous works shall be remembered; but because of the iniquity that he has committed, he shall die." (Ezek. 33:13)

The denial of everlasting torment for the wicked.

Recently, another heresy has made dramatic inroads within the church. It is called the Emergent Movement. Many professing Jesus as their Savior are excited about steering Christianity in a new direction. Emergent teachers believe Jesus will spiritually save mankind. They teach Jesus cannot be the Savior of the world unless He saves every person ever born. [23. Universalism vs. Eternal Damnation Debate I, T. 1:28-2:19]

"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith." (2 Thes. 3:1-2)

Not all people have faith in the Lord (Acts 14:2). As believers we must enter eternal life through the narrow gate. According to Jesus, this path to heaven is so difficult very few will find it (Mat. 7:13-14). In contrast, many will enter the broad gate leading to destruction. This is why we aren't to fear those who can just kill the body. Instead we should fear (respect) God; the only One able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Mat. 10:28). Emergent leader Doug Pagitt doesn't believe a loving God would ever cast anyone into hell fire. [24. Doug Pagitt Denies The Doctrine Of Hell, T. 7:50-7:59] He teaches everyone will be judged the same way; whether they believe in Jesus or not. Carlton Pearson once pastored a congregation of six thousand in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The exodus began the day he taught hell is a myth. [25. Carlton Pearson, T. 1:42-2:21] He believes everyone will be saved. Those in his church judged his universal gospel as wicked. They knew anyone teaching such heresy is not abiding in the doctrine of Christ.

"But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges..." (1 Cor. 15:11-13)

These saints were willing to contend for the faith by judging a minister claiming to be a brother in Christ. He couldn't be serving God because he was teaching another gospel. They made a righteous judgment and left. Pearson lost his church, his ministry, his reputation, even most of his Christian friends. Rightly so.

"But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed." (Gal. 1:8)

God has given this man time to repent so his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus (1 Cor. 5:5). What about the millions following teachers denying Jesus as the only begotten Son of God? And where was the public outcry from John Hagee's sixteen thousand member church when he taught Jesus was not the Messiah? Saints, the handwriting is on the wall. For many, following a fashionable teacher or celebrity pastor is far more important than abiding in Christ.

"If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds." (2 John 1:10-11)

Anyone teaching such heretical doctrines is denying the Lord. It doesn't matter how sincere, how passionate, or how convincing they are. It doesn't matter if they know they're teaching heresy or not. We shouldn't even fellowship with them; lest we be deceived by the evil spirits involved.

The denial of Jesus as the only way to be saved.

This interview of Dr. Billy Graham by new age Pastor Robert Schuller points us to the final destination of these heresies. [26. Billy Graham-What's Going On, T. 3:42-5:37] When asked about the future of Christianity this distinguished evangelist announced God is calling people out of the world to become members of the body of Christ. It doesn't matter if they believe in Jesus or not. Dr. Schuller, who believes all will be saved, was thrilled to hear such heresy. My friends, the only way to love Jesus, to be a member of the body of Christ, is to be drawn by His Father (John 6:44). Surely the Father is not calling people out of the world that don't believe in His Son. Yet, Dr. Graham teaches Muslims and Buddhists that don't even know Jesus can go to heaven by turning to the only light they have.

"Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them." (2 Cor. 4:4)

Turning to the 'light' of any teaching other than the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ is not a road to heaven but eternal damnation. After John MacArthur heard Billy proclaiming pagan faiths can be spiritually saved he contacted his organization. [27. Wider-Mercy Salvation-Billy Graham Exposed, T. 4:05-4:36] The Billy Graham Association confirmed Dr. Graham believes people who have never heard the gospel can be saved. He taught this in Decision magazine in 1960. Make no mistake, giving people hope they can go to heaven without believing in Jesus is a different gospel.

"I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel." (Gal. 1:6)

This is a frightening example of how Satan is baiting Christian leaders not to judge between the righteous and the wicked. (Mal. 3:18)
