The prophecy
Gabriel gave Daniel predicts the very day the Messiah will return a second time
for the salvation of Israel (Heb. 9:28, Rom 11:25, Rev. 10:7) Before the Holy
One can bring in everlasting righteousness for those who believe in Him, Israel
must suffer 490 years (70 weeks) of persecution by the Gentiles (Dan. 9:24).
Sixty-nine weeks were fulfilled when the Lamb of God was crucified on Passover (1
Pet. 1:19). There is still one week (seven years) left before the fullness of
the Gentiles ends and the mystery of God is finished (Rom 11:25, Rev. 10:7).
Before the 70th week can begin, a world leader will physically
subdue three Muslim nations (Dan. 7:8). This display of force will convince
neighboring countries to lay down their weapons and allow Israel to live in
peace. Alarmingly, most of the world will be living in darkness when this
covenant is confirmed by the Little Horn and the seven year countdown to the
return of the Messiah begins.
