"So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation." (Heb. 9:28)

Appear in this verse means to physically appear. The Son of Man won't touch the earth at His coming. Paul is addressing the physical return of the Messiah for the salvation of Israel at the end of the 70th Week of Daniel (Dan. 9:24, Rev. 10:1-7, Rom. 11:25-27). When believing Jews see Jesus they will cry out, 'barukh haba b'shem Adonai,' (blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord) (Mat. 23:39).
