A
pastor once told me he could never teach on the judgment seat of Christ because
his congregation couldn't handle it. Sadly enough he just doesn't get it. Why
do you think the Holy Spirit wants every believer to understand this profound
hope?
"For we are His workmanship, created
in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should
walk in them." (Eph. 2:10)
God
has prepared good works for you to walk in. From the moment you are saved, until
the time you go to be with the Lord, every good work you do will be rewarded.
It doesn't matter if man recognizes your works, God does. This was meant to be
a huge encouragement to seek after only the mind of Christ. As we speak, there
are Christians hopelessly striving after the approval of their pastor, their
family, and their friends. Countless others are being paralyzed by what their
peers might say. The lust for approval coupled with the fear of man is
crippling. The influence of deceiving spirits in these two strongholds can make
us do things we would never do. As believers, we should never allow ourselves
to be trapped into coveting the endorsement of man. Such approval
means nothing to God.
