Many ask why are the 144,000 being sealed for protection just
before the 7th seal is opened (Rev. 7:1-8)? If the events of the seven seals
represent God's wrath, like most pastors teach, then shouldn't the 144,000 be
sealed before the 1st seal? They aren't. If the events of the seven
seals represent the day of the Lord, then shouldn't the elect be delivered
before the 1st seal is opened? They aren't. The 144,000 will be
sealed from God's wrath just before the day of the Lord erupts after the
opening of the 7th seal (Rev. 8:1). The only way to grasp the
correct timing of the Son of Man for His elect is by understanding the
difference between Satan's wrath against the saints and God's wrath against the
wicked. The seven seals of the heavenly
scroll are never called God's wrath. The events of the seven trumpets and seven
bowls are God's wrath against the wicked during the day of the Lord (Rev.
8:1-13, 9:1-21, 11:15, 16:1-21). This is why the saints are taken up and
144,000 are sealed for protection just before the 7th seal is
opened.
